Do not sell or share my personal information
Moveout does not sell your personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We never have. There is no opt-out form on this page because there is nothing to opt out of.
What that statement covers
Under California law, "sell" and "share" are broader than an exchange of money — they reach disclosures for other valuable consideration, and disclosures to advertising networks that build profiles across sites. We do neither. We do not run advertising on this site, we do not embed advertising or social trackers, and we do not use advertising cookies. When we count page visits, we use Plausible, which receives the page's address, the page you came from, your IP address and your browser's user agent to count the visit. Plausible says it doesn't store your IP address or user agent; it uses them to make a visitor code that applies only to this site and only for that day, and it stores records of the pages viewed and the visits. On the pages where you answer questions about your case, including our front page, we load Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not a bot, is using them; it receives your network address, the page and signals from your browser.
The other third parties that receive anything are the service providers that run the product for us — hosting and storage, sign-in, and, if you buy a letter, payment processing and mail delivery for a letter you authorize. They receive it to do that job for us, under their own terms.
Global Privacy Control
Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing for a Global Privacy Control signal to switch off, and we don't read the signal.
Your other California rights
Whether or not the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to a business our size, we honor the requests it describes: to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, and to delete it. Some of them you can exercise yourself — your case is visible to you in the product, any fact can be re-confirmed, and you can delete your case and account. For the rest, contact us below. We will not discriminate against you for making a request. We verify a request by the email address on the account before we act on it.
How to reach us
A contact address for make a request, or to ask how we handle your information is not configured for this deployment of the site.
We answer within 45 days, and tell you if we need the extension the statute allows. An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission from you.
